A CHEAP AND CHEERFUL CANGGU GUESTHOUSE
Canggu, a region of Bali frequented by surfers,
offers more laid back vibes than that of
neighboring areas such as Seminyak.
Still in its up and coming phase, Canggu holds onto it's local feel, while still providing lots of options in terms of activities and dining out.
Situated in a quiet part of Canggu, Danas is a small, family run guest house and the perfect budget accommodation for solo or couple travelers. In search of a last minute place to stay, we were happy to find this place on Air BnB.
ACCOMMODATION
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, Danas is a peaceful little oasis, a great place to arrive to after a long day of traveling. There are five small guest houses, each facing out to the garden, which is covered by big lush trees providing shade from the hot Bali sun.
The rooms are furnished with queen size beds, a tv, air con and en suite with hot water, sometimes a luxury to find in this price range. Towels and daily housekeeping are also provided, as well as breakfast served outside your room when you wake up.
There is a small shared kitchen in the back which you can use to cook or fix yourself tea or coffee which is complimentary.
You can also rent a motorbike through them, which we have found is easier than having to go directly to a bike shop.
THE VIBE
Ngurah, his wife and son run the guest house and they take great pride in their place and making you feel at home. We spent time chatting with them, learning more about their family and getting recommendations of what to do and where to eat in Canggu.
These are the kind of places we love to stay at, local family run businesses, and meeting people like Ngurah who are brilliant hosts and take the time to talk to each one of their guests.
If you are looking for more than a hostel, but still trying to stay within your budget, Danas is the place to go.
